Our sports rehab program can be tailored to athletes of any age and focuses on restoring function and maximizing individual potential in your sport.
Goals of Sports Rehab
The goal of sports rehab is to return to sport, or prior level of function. In addition to this, we spend ample time on patient education to prevent future injury.We provide care to address various sports injuries, such as the following:
- ACL reconstruction, meniscus repairs
- Patella-femoral Syndrome
- Hip labral repairs, snapping hip, ITB syndrome
- Shoulder rotator cuff and labral repairs
- Separated/dislocated shoulder
- Ankle sprains
- Post-concussion, and other vestibular dysfunction
- Tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and other overuse injuries
- Fractures
- Muscle strains
Treatment Interventions
In addition to providing traditional manual therapy techniques and creating a strong foundation for progressing exercise intensity, we offer techniques such as:
- Dry needing (DN) to address persistent pain and/or soft tissue deficits (see section on DN for further details)
- Agility and plyometric training, including use of blaze pods to enhance reaction time and overall speed (as seen below)
- TRX suspension training which involves use of body weight as resistance in progressing strength and muscular endurance, as well as assisting in introduction to jump training
- Pilates like core training to focus on posture, core strength and stabilization
- Recovery methods including Kinesio taping
- Return to sport testing to ensure patient’s readiness, increase patient’s confidence, and ultimately achieve clearance from physician to return to prior level of function
