AUTO ACCIDENT INJURY

Physical Therapy For Accident Victims

Amazingly, studies have shown that most of us will be in a car accident eventually. The question most people have is how bad will it be.

1

Seek treatment as soon as possible. The Bad Guys, insurance companies, love to talk about “gaps in care.” if you don’t get care within two weeks of the accident they will often refuse to pay for treatment after that period.

2

If you are hurt at all, go to the ER, hospital, or Urgent Care. Be sure to ask for a physical therapy prescription, just in case you may need it.

3

Don't have a doctor? We have a team of doctors that we have developed relationships with that can see you and refer you to physical therapy, often without you having to pay anything upfront!

4

Even if you don’t feel “that bad” right after the accident, or if you still have pain, headaches, or even soreness for a few days or more, come to our office to determine if you need further care.

5

Remember, coming in sooner means getting better, faster.

6

If you are worried about how you will pay, don’t! Most Auto Insurance companies have what is called Med Pay or PIP. This means you are covered 100%, with no out-of-pocket expense up to a certain limit. Our office can check into that for you.

7

PIP covers you even if you were the one that was at fault!

8

However, if the accident was not your fault. The other person's auto insurance will cover your therapy expenses with us. We can handle any paperwork for you.

9

Whenever possible never agree to any amount of money with an insurance company before you have had a medical professional evaluate you. By accepting any amount of money before you are fully healed, you will be completely on your own and will have to pay out of pocket for your care.

10

Dealing with insurance companies can be almost as bad as the wreck itself. Hiring an Attorney who is an expert and trustworthy essentially takes you out of the direct bargaining process with the insurance company and all the paperwork & phone calls associated with that process, and allows you to concentrate on healing. We highly recommend a personal injury attorney, the auto insurance is theirs, better to have your own!

11

Unfortunately, Traumatic Injuries from a car accident if left untreated can lead to chronic pain, spinal degeneration, functional impairments, and a host of other problems for years to come. Imagine for example, if after spraining your ankle, you continue to limp for years after you have healed, because the functional adaptation that helped while you were injured was never corrected.

Important Information for At Fault Parties:

We find that many people involved in an auto accident that WAS THEIR FAULT never get treatment. Often this is due to the fear that insurance costs will go up after a claim is filed. Your PIP (Personal Injury Protection) is why you have auto insurance in the first place, it is also guaranteed by Texas law unless you reject it in writing! Many insurance companies will not raise your rates after 1 or even 2 accidents in the same year.

THE INJURIES SUSTAINED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT CAN CAUSE A HOST OF PROBLEMS FOR YEARS TO COME, OR EVEN THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO AT LEAST COME IN AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE OK!

“No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.”
